am 5'8, 157lbs, and I ordered the 10 long in the "Inspire Blue" color. I am thrilled with my purchase! My jeans hit me just above my bellybutton and hold my tummy in place. I wasnt sure if I should have ordered a long or standard, but I tried long. It stops at the floor, right at my heels. I dont mind but some people might prefer to have it shorter. The quality of the denim is sturdy and thicker than the cheaper n thinner jeans u might find at Walmart. The only weird thing was the smell (reminds me of my grandmas closet) but I love this! I will be back to buy more colors!

m very impressed by these Lee Jeans. They are very soft and comfortable and the fit is perfect. I bought a size 8 which was a tad bit large (8 usually runs small in other jeans) but still felt great. Being middle-aged, I didn't want low riders, I wanted something that would enhance an older woman's figure. These jeans actually make me look slim and sleek. I am going to flip them inside out to wash them (keeps the color nice) and edit this at a later date to see how they held up. There is a little room to shrink but I doubt they will. Lee's usually hold their shape well. The straight legs are not tight at all which is nice if you wear boots or Uggs, it does not outline their shape and look silly and also looks good tucked in! The jeans also look nice with heels! I never buy jeans online unless they are Lee or Levi, otherwise I have try them on. Lee's are reliable when it comes to the sizes. They look very nice
ve gained some weight over the last year due to some personal tragedies. I had basically nothing to wear because I had gained so much weight as far as pants. I was upset at having to order a larger size than normal anyway but I was terrified that they would come and be too small. I would mitt it was a little hard to fasten the button at first but they actually fit very nicely. I’ve worn them for a couple of hours twice now and I have not noticed that they stretch or get out of shape. I feel like they did slim me a little bit. I’m actually so happy with them that I’m going to order another pair in a darker color
Real pockets
is comfortable, professional and fabric is medium durability. I am tall and curvy. Waist is 32-34 and hips are 44 my preferred inseam is 37, but I can wear 34s with boots. These fit like a 35 inseam. The way they make the belly a control top it to extend the pocket fabric all the way to the zipper so the pockets have a nice amount of room. I like that the waist doesn’t form a bucket when I squat. I like that the pant legs are small enough that they don’t bunch up inside my tall boots but aren’t so skinny that they cut off my circulation. The area on the inner thighs that will never last forever took a year to wear through. I’ve ordered several pair. The black tends to rub off on my legs. The Raven is a nice grey version of olive drab. The Palisade stained pretty quick but one wash with Era brought them back which is more than I can say for the Old Navy pants of the same color.

I am a tall gal of 6ft and low waisted jeans never worked for me. Torso is too long to safely wear low waisted pants, shoes too much skin and bubbles over the waist band. These jeans fit perfectly, above the hips so they don’t slide down, they are long enough in the inseam with is a rare find for me, the fabric has a little stretch for comfort but is not clingy. The stone washed fabric is a little thicker than the darker wash and are my favorites, but the thinner ones are nice too. Thank goodness there is a higher waist option for us tall girls.
Good all around jeans
ought these for anything from grocery shopping to yard work and I’m very pleased. The denim feels strong and looks nice. The top tends to roll once when I bend down but to me at my size that’s to be expected. They’re comfortable and I wear them often.

I am very pleased with the fit and style of these jeans. Being only 5'2" and a little large in the butt and thighs, it's hard to find a good fitting pair of pants. I ordered the 10 short and the length was perfect. The high rise helped tuck in the belly even! Not too tight or snug and the little bit of spandex made them a little stretchy and move with ease. I absolutely love these jeans. The material is soft, and not heavy. They fit well, due likely to the 1% spandex which "gives" a little. Their waistline is at the waistline, which is my biggest complaint about other jeans which ride way too low. They fit well, not loose as so many "relaxed" jeans do. Yes! As all others have said these jeans do run large but in fairness these jeans are made for the curvy girl who is small in the waist with hips and rounded rear ends. But I am 5'9 with a flat rear and thick thighs so I normally wear a size 12/14 and skinny jeans turn into muffin top jeans on me. I needed a straight leg jean with a little higher waist that didn't look like mom jeans. After reading the reviews I chose a size 12 but Way too big is an understatement. What I loved was how dark the black jeans are and not that awful greyish black that has become popular. I returned them easily and the exchange arrived quickly within 3 days of me mailing back the return.
Now I love the size 10 and while an 8 may fit tighter in the rear, the 10 fits my hips well without squeezing them (giving an hourglass shape) and the waist is comfortable enough that even if they draw up after washing I will be able to zip them up. With a belt I can pull them up higher to hide my lack of "booty" with out losing the length. The length is perfect for sneakers or heals.
I do not have that totum pole leg look as the jeans hug my thighs just above the knees then loosens to make my thighs look slimmer. Then at the knee it sort of gathers so it is straight but not straight as a "pole". This is that classic jean that I was looking for and I am extremely happy to find them. So happy that I ordered a pair in Horizon for my daughter since she is curvy both in hips and rear so she should fill these jeans out well while having a more slimming look. If these do not draw up in the wash then I will try Horizon in an 8 and see if those will be too small since I am in a middle size I may be better off not going down another size.
Still overall these are excellent, sturdy, true to color, year round jeans and once you find your size you will want a pair in every color.

Excellent slimming pants for the big booty ones amongst us as it cinches near your waist so it won't sag. If you're pear-shaped and plagued by pants you have to constantly yank up because your pants are more sized for your hips and not your waist - these are the pants for you. Given there is a solid 12" difference between my waist and hips & grew up during the low-rise jeans era I usually avoid jeans altogether... Now I don't have to.
Fit: I am 5'4" (164cm) and the end of the pants hit my heels perfectly. If you're much taller/shorter definitely check the inseam measurements. It is somewhat more of a bootcut than straight leg but that difference isn't substantial and may be due to my frame.
I usually wear a size 6 but sized down and the 4 fits perfectly - most likely to accommodate curvier frames like hourglass and pears. Waist: 28", Hips: 40"

I really like these jeans alot. I have them in two colors - Inspire, which is light-wash blue , and Blue Lagoon, a medium blue. I got a size 10 in both and they fit exactly the same: a little relaxed and loose. The regular length is good for me. I've washed many times and dried in the dryer with no shrinkage. They are easy upkeep. I'm 5'6", about 126 pounds. Waist 29, hips 39. I usually wear an 8 or 10, depending on the fabric and cut. First, the Horizon is actually a deeper blue than it looks in the photo (my camera didn't do it justice, so I couldn't get a good picture), but I like the real color better so I'm happy :-) I have several pairs of Lee jeans, in different styles -- some I like, some I tolerate. The style I loved had been discontinued, and after contacting Lee they told me this Classic Fit Monroe Straight Leg was the "replacement". It's not exactly the same, my favorite pair was boot cut, but I do like straight leg (as long as the opening isn't too wide). So, I decided to give these a try. Boy am I happy I did! They fit at the waist, so there's no roll-over; there's light support, but they give (without being sloppy); the material isn't too thick or stiff like previous jeans (but not too thin); they're soft & comfy. I ordered the first pair directly from Lee, in "Seattle", and the leg opening is about 6". My Amazon pair is "Horizon", and the opening is about 7,5", but it's okay because it's more like a slight flare, which I like. Some of my other straight leg jeans are wide in the leg, and they aren't flattering. These are different. I'm 5'2", 156lb, have always been curvy (even when I was smaller) so I've always struggled to find a good pair of jeans. I absolutely hate...HATE...shopping for clothes, especially jeans and pants. In stores, online...anywhere! Sizes within the SAME brand can be so inconsistent. Most jeans today are mom jeans, skinny jeans, lo-rise jeans or state 'at-the-waist' but aren't. I gave up.
I love Lee jeans and have worn them for years and years dreading the day I would need more. I was thrilled to find what I wanted here at Amazon but, had it not been for free shipping and returns I would have passed here also. There was a lot of trial and error.
These are true high-rise jeans without being mom jeans. I buy longs for the little extra rise and to allow for shrinkage in the length. These are true straight legs giving a slack look with a slim fit .Black jeans are my "uniform" for work. As long a I wear a long top I can get away with jeans there. (Finding slacks I like is a nightmare.) I don't like light colors or "washed" looks so the Horizons were great too. Darker is more flattering.
I had to order over a dozen pairs to be able to narrow it down to the six I kept. One 8 fit like an 8 - perfect! The other 8s were returned because they fit like a six and cut me in half or fit like large 10s. I ordered 10s and a couple pairs fit like a 12, a couple fit like a six and a few fit like a true 8! Those I kept. I have always noticed that any brand's black jeans atr cut smaller and shorter than any other color; as though there was some kind of shortage on black denim fabric.
I always wash my jeans inside out, adding vinegar to the cold water wash to keep the color dark. I air dry in the dryer, or perma-press warn dry, for maybe just five minutes either way to fluff wrinkles and then hang to dry and keep their original shape. Even using these tricks, two pair stretched a bit width wise in the hips but nothing I can't live with. (May try a little longer dryer heat on those two pairs.)
Thanks to Amazon, I'm now up six new pairs of jeans and so very thankful for their "trial and error, no hassle" return policy which was the EASIEST I've ever dealt with!
P. S - Shipping was awesome...only two days every single time! Returns credited the same! Kudos Amazon!

So, I used my small scissors to carefully cut away some of the excess fabric within the stitched button hole. Problem solved.

Good for Lee for taking women seriously as regards sizing and consistency. Usually it is only men's clothing that receives this sort of careful attention! These jeans are just a tad larger than the posted size, not enough to make a difference in fit or looks if you're solidly in the size, but just enough to assist if you are losing weight and are not quite the next size down yet. They have just the right amount of give for comfort and style to allow you to reach your size completely, and then they still look good! I ordered another pair right away and can't wait until they arrive.
Length is excellent. I am 5'6", and the regular length is just right for either heels (covers the top of your foot and covers your actual physiological heel, allowing the shoe heel to show) or flats (bunches very slightly at the ankles but doesn't drag, looks good as well). I am an almost-10, and these size 10s give me some comfort while I continue on down but before I'm solidly in the 10 size. I anticipate they will look good if I continue down past 10. These are my absolute favorite jeans! I first tried these on at Goodwill, and they fit perfectly in every way--most jeans are too tight in the legs and too loose in the waist, making them slowly pull downwards as I walk. These are nice and form-fitting, but loose enough in the thighs that I can walk, and tight enough on my waist that they stay on.
It does pinch a little when I'm sitting curled up, but what jeans aren't? If I wanted to sit curled up then I'm gonna wear yoga pants. They do go up pretty high--almost to the belly button! I was looking for jeans with a bit of extra room in the tummy to wear on a long road trip. I tried these on in a store and found that they are just what I was looking for. I usually wear the relaxed fit in 10 long and didn't want to go up a size in those because they would bag all over. These in 12 long are quite loose in the tummy area, so no slimming effect but they are still flattering and extremely comfortable. They will probably be my go to jeans until I lose a few pounds.
Edit- Okay I love the first pair so much that I purchased a second pair, this time in the pearl color because I have so many dark jeans already and they are for very casual Summer wear. The color and fit are good. They look like they could be an older pair of the Seattle color. They did arrive with a much stronger mothball smell though, which is almost gone after 3 washes and being dried in the sun for a couple of days each time. The first pair only had a very slight smell which was gone after 2 washes and a couple of days in the sun. I hope the manufacturer corrects this!
Purchased another pair in graphite. I love the soft polished twill fabric. They easily work for business casual as long as the rivets are covered by a top.

They look good and are slenderizing and I love the Horizon color, darker so can be dressed up easily. I wash them inside out to help prevent drastic fading. I run them through the dryer on low setting for about 10 minutes and then hang dry them. So I will be coming back to Amazon for these jeans as needed. I was surprised that the quality and fit I got directly from Lee was so off and their website is a mess. I am 5'6" and weigh 140 and the 8 long is my size. These jeans fit, they are heavy enough to work for horseback riding, gardening, fishing and camping. hiking is great because they are mostly cotton.

I bought these jeans a couple of years ago at a department store and really liked them. I decided I wanted to get some more but the store only had them in a very dark indigo rinse. I bought three pair in three different shades of blue on Amazon. All three fit true to size. (sz 8) I have noting negative to say about them. Lee jeans came on schedule and with the perfect length for my very long legs. Normally I would wear a long, in length, but these jeans have almost always run long, So the medium is good. The size 14 is only a tad too big. Not enough to be concerned about. I also have size 12 m in this jean and it fits very good on my skinny days. I am 5'7" tall and weight fluctuates up to 3 lbs and with these jeans in both sizes, I am covered. IF you are going to wear heels, or boots with heels, you might need the longer length. I wear sneakers with a one inch heel and this size fits fine. Don't count on these jeans shrinking....they don't.
These jeans are soft and comfortable and I wouldn't hesitate to recommend them to anyone I cared for, or met at work. They are lightweight and perfect for coastal weather, but they would not be in colder climates. :) Make sure you follow the laundry instructions, turning the jean inside out to wash so fading is minimal.
I do wish the waist button hole had more secure stitching as I can see the metal button pulling against the hole and tearing. But so far, with previous jeans from Lee, they haven't. :) And it is a fact....these jeans are slimming. :D

I loved these jeans SO much, that I have just received two more pair I ordered since the above review. These are in size 12 M. Since I can wear these jeans in sizes 12 AND sizes 14, I now have them in both sizes to accommodate a few pounds of fluctuating weight gains and I have them in two print colors, ( in addition to 3 pair in blue denim.)
These that I just tried on, are in Wild Grape Heritage Snake and the lighter color Oxford Heritage Snake and they are so beautiful...omgosh. Please don't be reluctant to try this print as it looks fabulous and feels even more fabulous. Great fabric. VERY slimming. They do stretch some as you wear them and they don't bounce back much. So, if I am going to be traveling, I want the 14's for good comfort, but if I am going out shopping or to work where I stand most the time, I want these in the size 12, as they are snug and make me look so slim and so good and feel so comfortable. Love these things.
I want to discuss length. These jeans DO Run Long. That is why a Medium will fit my very long legs on my 5'7" slender to medium, frame. In most pants in the past I have needed 12 or 14 LONGS. Not these. They don't shrink much, if any but they stretch out on you,if they do. These jeans ( 12 ) hem drops right about the bottom of the bow on my sneaker laces. If your legs are average "for your height" they will go down even further on your shoes.
Now here is a catch: I noticed these jeans tonight to be a little below my waistline. Just a tad. Hmm. Not enough for me to return. So I looked at the attached stickers and sure enough....they ARE listed as a a "little below the waist." I think this is important, if you have fatty tissue around the waist, as I have a little. If you do, I think it would behoove you to order a size up from your normal size. I like the way the smaller size 12 fits, ( snug ) in spite of the waistline not being AT the waist. I can pull these up easily and they still look and feel great. I just don't appreciate NOT being informed of this information on the site page, itself. It says this only:

I put the quotes on that last line. I had "assumed" they were AT the waist, which is what I wanted and where the previous Marilyn jean was. I removed one star, for this, but 4 is still a winner, in my opinion, too.
At any rate, if you purchase these good and great looking jeans and they aren't what you expect, Amazon is the best retailer in the world, in my experience, for returns or exchanges.
PS....if you are short and petite, don't order the medium length as it will no doubt, be too long.
I hope I have covered enough to help you make a decision. Lee Jeans have really improved in the consistency of quality in the past two years. They are more dependable in the length, albeit long. At least they aren't at the top of your ankles, which I used to experience with this jean. The last 4 pair have been just perfect for me. I don't like prints, but I love this snake print on these jeans. It dresses them up, from bland. They could be worn anywhere and look appropriate.

I have been wearing KMart Basic Editions womens short (not petite) jeans forEVER. I liked that they were on the less thick/heavy side and had a stretch without becoming over-stretched. I especially liked that they sat just below the belly button in the front but sat high enough up in the back that they were almost at the waist and didn't slide down my butt when I knelt or bent over. I found that they wore fairly well and washed well (I've worn them to do yard work and gotten them really dirty). I have been every size from 18 down to 6 (and up and down again and again) and still have been able to get my size in SHORT length. I especially liked that I could get them at regular price for under $20, sometimes on sale from $10-13. Unfortunately, they seem to be going the way of the dinosaur and so I've been forced to search for a replacement. I have been having a really hard time because I want a thinner material, in SHORT, sitting just at the waist (not mid-rise), straight but not tight, with some stretch, and with good-sized pockets, and a price that is reasonable. I can't wear Gloria Vanderbilt (they're just too tightly cut in every size); I find Dickies too "industrial"-looking and the material too heavy; in many store brands the material is too heavy or not stretchy enough and most don't come in short in a cut I like.
Add to all this that I've been trying to buy online because I need jeans and the pandemic has resulted in a lot of store closures.
I read a lot of reviews for many brands and finally settled on trying Lee.
I am currently a size 6 (at the large end of the size range), but depending on cut and stretch could be an 8; short (not petite) length (29 inch inseam). I am 5'2", 132 lbs (but this fluctuates upward) and carry weight a little bit more at my waist and hips.
I was on the fence as to whether to give the Lee jeans 3 or 4 stars, but since I just ordered a second pair I think it's only fair to give 4 stars. With that said, they are the best replacement that I've found so far for my KMart jeans, but they are by no means comparable. Here's why: 1. The waist band is fairly thick and it bunches at the button when I sit down, sticking me in the belly button and giving me the dreaded sweaty waist. 2. The jeans material itself has some stretch (not so much in the waist) but the material is a heavier weight than the KMart jeans--perhaps more of a mid-weight material. For some this might be a plus but on a hot (80 degree), humid, sunny day, the Lee's are definitely hard to wear comfortably, whereas I had no issue with my old KMart jeans. 3. Some reviewers commented on the minniscule front pockets and they weren't kidding. If I still had my old flip phone I would have to turn it sideways to get it in; it won't fit an iPhone. The front pocket needs a reality check and a redesign. But given my limited jeans options, I put up with it. 4. Others would consider $23 or so reasonably priced, but for jeans that I am going to beat up (gardening, cleaning the house, getting bleach and stains on them, etc.) I really want to have a good chance of paying under $20 and I couldn't get there (I had to hunt around to find them for $23-ish).
Now for the good points: 1. They do not ride down my butt in the back (the way mid-rise jeans with stretch do on me), but instead stay firmly at my waist. This is the first pair of jeans out of the ones bought in my replacement "quest" that stayed put. 2. They have a small amount of stretch but did not stretch out in the washer and dryer (hot and hot settings). 3. They come in SHORT (petite is the wrong cut for me).
When the stores reopen I will give up the on-line search in favor of trying on jeans in the stores, but for now these Lees are as close as I can get to my old Basic Editions jeans--sort-of.
I hope this review helps anyone else hunting for replacement jeans.

I was sooo excited for these pants. Its hard to find my size (or any long sizes), and at first it seemed these would live up to the expectations. But then i wore them for a full day.
These pants start sagging after a few hours. The waist is still tight but the croch and butt area are all stretched and not flattering at all.
Also the butt is super flat. I mean, ive accepted my general lack of butt, but if thats something you care about.

The fit and style of these jeans are great. Classic. They don't require constant tugging on the waist to bring them above your butt. This makes me very happy! I purchased five pairs--from black to the lightest wash. Thankfully they had the Long option available, and that worked out very well. The black and darkest blue wash are as pictured, but the distinction between the lighter three shades of blue--while there--is slighter than they appear in the photos. I figured that might be the case, so that's not that big a deal. The ONLY thing I don't like about these is the smell. They smell like they have been doused in bug repellent or some other sort of chemical--maybe those used in the dying process--and it caused me to have an allergic reaction just like I've experienced when I've been exposed to the chemicals in hair color--after wearing a pair, my eyes swelled up and stayed that way for two days. Three of the pairs were worse than the other two, but I washed them all on an extended hot water cycle with two rinses, then a soak cycle for half an hour, and then another extended cycle. I used Oxiclean, my regular 7th Generation detergent, and white vinegar. (The vinegar did the most to remove the smell so far...) After all that, the smell is diminished, but still there. Going in for a third wash. Whatever it is that's on them is unpleasant and potentially very unhealthy. I will keep washing them until the smell is gone. Other than *that*--a good, classic fitting pair of jeans.

These look great on me. I have the mom pooch/flat tire, big butt and thighs. These contour everything without being too tight. If you have a flat stomach, no back fat or love handles then these will probably not fit you in the waist. But they suck everything in which I love, and make my butt look good.
The 2 reasons I'm not rating this at 5 stars is because 1) my jeans were covered in hair! Looked like cat, but could have been shedding from a fuzzy throw pillow or something, but either way! Don't send hair covered clothes! Super weird to open the plastic packaging and see a crap ton of suspected cat hair. 2) The jean material seems thinner than normal jeans, so I am not sure how long these will last before I wear holes where my thunder thighs touch. Best fitting jeans I've found in awhile. Everything nowadays seems to be either skinny jeans or "mom jeans" with baggy hips. I was looking for a pair like I'd purchased from K-mart called Lee Riders a while back. I actually found a post on Facebook suggesting this as one of a couple similar pairs.
This wasn't at all similar but I did like some things about the jeans a lot, enough that I'll likely buy again if they hold up well. The "comfort fit" waist band and darting in the back is great, I have a hard to fit shape and these don't gap when I bend over or ride a bike! They fit really comfortably. What I don't like is how "mom jeans" they are. I'm cool with the straight leg though I'd like other leg options in the same type of waist, the real problem is the front waist, while the back is nicely darted and fitted the front actually creates the look of a stomach pouch where it doesn't need to, something about the cut just isn't shaped perfectly. It isn't drastic but I'm young and single so ::shrug::. The other, minor, thing I don't like is the "inspirational" sayings on the pocket fabric, as visible when the pants are off, it's just so... well... cheesy. I'd prefer something a bit sassy there if anything at all but hey, minor detail.

I ordered these jeans in the Graphite color. I need a longer rise for my long waist and these work. My assessment is that they run a bit large but I haven't washed them yet. The graphite color is dressier than most Blue jean colors. I would say they look a bit more like slacks than most jeans. They have a well-tailored fit and are pretty flattering. And given the price of jeans these days, Monroe is a good bargain.
I think it's well to note that different colors are constructed from different fabrics. This color is 98% cotton and 2% stretch. If fabric content is important to you, read the entire listing carefully to check your color choice.
I will definitely order additional colors in this style because it's such a flattering fit for me. But I would not order a color that's a polyester blend. Just my taste.

made garments, especially shoes, as they are usually made for Chinese proportions

I have bought these jeans before and liked them. Needing a smaller size, I ordered these. They fit well at the waist and are a good length for me (5ft 6in). I have barely had them a month and they have frayed out so that they no longer fit flat at the zipper. I have put fray lock on them and sewed them so I can still wear them around the house but make sure you look at them when you get them. These were made in Mexico. I also bought a pair called Heritage that were made in Egypt. They have a little better cotton in them and seem well made. However, they are just a little shorter in the waist.

I'm giving these jeans 3 stars because they fit as expected and cons aren't enough to return. I'm 5'8" and 210 lbs with long legs and shortish waist. These cinch a bit at the belly, but not uncomfortably so. They fit around my thighs and are neither baggy nor skin tight. The length is perfect for me...the hem hits the top of my shoes.
As others have mentioned, these are not 98% cotton. The tag says 75% cotton, 24% polyester and 1% spandex. I hate when the waist band folds on itself or rolls, so hopefully there is enough cotton structure to keep this from happening. Will update the review if this happens. I also checked the Lee website for these same jeans and the fabric composition is correctly described there, so it is misstated here.
Also as others have mentioned, the buttonhole is TOO TIGHT! Basically, a buttonhole stitch has been sewed in a sort of teardrop shape and then the middle sliced open to create the buttonhole. I took scissors to it to trim all around the inside of the stitching to make the buttonhole bigger before I even tried on...I was afraid I wouldn't be able to unbutton them otherwise.

I was very disappointed with these jeans. They were small, I’m usually a size 6 but clearly I’ve gained some COVID-curves… so that was unfortunate but that’s not what I’m mad about. The quality of the jeans feel great needed to wash when I got them cuz there was a terrible smell but the most disappointing thing is the length. Will have to figure how to make them work.
UPDATE: I washed the jeans to get rid of the smell and they came out the wash coarse and scratchy! Maybe it’s my detergent or maybe it’s just these jeans are terrible and shouldn’t be purchased. You choose.

I read reviews that stated these run small so I purchased a 10 rather than an 8. My main complaint is that the legs are cut very full, much more so than past Lee straight legs. THESE LOOK NOTHING LIKE THE MONROE JEANS ILLUSTRATED ON SITE!!! Be aware of that, please. Even my husband noticed. Fabric is quite thin but I expected that. I'm hopeful that they might shrink a bit when washed but doubt it because of high content of polyester. They seem a bit longer than 29" inseam (short). I will keep them because of price. But if you really want a great fit I suggest purchasing at a store with a fitting room.

Nice comfortable jeans. They have some give to them, which I like. However, I'm downgrading my rating from 5 to 3 stars because of the latest pair I just received. I ordered another pair, and I'm sorry to say that the quality has gone down. The pockets are 2 inches shallower than on the original pair I bought. Forget putting my hands in my pockets if they are cold--they won't fit. And I usually carry my keys in my pocket at work. The pockets are barely big enough for them. This is probably a deal-breaker for me, and I'll have to find another brand of tall jeans to buy. This makes me sad.
The other reason for the downgrade in rating is that the second pair that arrived had the strong stench of moth balls. Even after a wash, I could still smell it. It is a horrible smell.

2nd update, cause I ordered another pair one size smaller. They came today, and they do not smell!!!! The label inside lists Egypt, same as the 1st pair, so not sure why the 6's stink and the 4's don't...body shaming??
Update: I soaked these in vinegar (1 cup to a basin of water the first time, 2 cups the second) and they still stunk. I then tried soaking in OdoBan, clean linen scent, one cup to a basin of water, for six hours.
Seemed to remove the smell. Rinsed them, then washed in the machine with my regular detergent with Oxy clean...Seemed o.k. Came out of the dryer with a little, bearable amount of the mothballs smell while hot. They didn't shrink, even tho I used got water. I did get a lot of color in the water with the first 2 soaks, and a bit in the third, but the jeans still look good after everything.
I'm tempted to buy another pair a size smaller, and maybe a different color since most of the reviews don't mention the chemical smell.

I'm going to keep them and try the vinegar wash, because they're a nice color. After I do that I'll update my review to mention if it worked. I bought a size 16 which is my usual size in Lee Jeans these days. I am 5"7" and hover between 185-190 pounds. These are light weight jean material and have just the right amount of stretch. They fit perfectly in the waist, but are a bit longer than I thought they would be for a regular length pant. They also fit in the hips, but they are close fitting in my thighs which is where I carry most of my extra weight. I am keeping them because, even at age 71, hope springs eternal that if a lose a couple of pounds it will come off where I most want it to. It's important to note that the washing instructions say to wash them in cold water and line or flat dry, which I find unusual for jeans. They did not shrink at all with the cold water wash so I will have to hem them, a consideration for those without a sewing machine.

Both the Horizon and Seattle colors turned out to be about 80 percent polyester. Jeans with that much polyester do not hold up well and are especially horrible for bike riding -- they start to pill on the inner thighs.
The Palisade (taupe) color was 98% cotton with just 2% elastane and I'm keeping those. I would get another pair right away, since it is so hard to find cotton jeans anymore, but I'll have to see how the light color works out.
I wish Amazon would take greater care in listings for items that come in more than one fabric.

Is is just me, or shouldn't the seat and thigh measurement expand with the waist? Maybe not inch for inch, but at least proportionally.
I have these jeans in size 6 Short from a few years ago. I recently put on some weight (thank you menopause) so that - although I can still fasten them - my size 6s are way too tight in the waist and a bit too snug through the seat and thigh. Not sure what my new size would be, I ordered an 8 Short and a 10 Short. First I tried on the 8 Short. It was definitely more comfortable in the waist, but felt just slightly less snug through the seat and thigh, so I decided to try the 10 Short. For the life of me, I couldn't tell the difference.
I got out the tape measure, and the only difference was barely 1" at the waist. The leg widths were exactly the same at the thigh, which turned out to be exactly the same as my size 6s. The fabric, however, was a bit stretchier in the 8 and 10, but that might change once they're washed. I'll probably keep both because I need them for a trip this week - Hey! Thanksgiving is just four days away and I might need that extra almost inch in the 10s ;-) - but maybe I'll try the relaxed fit in an 8 once I get back.

I ordered up a size from my norm wanting a looser fit but even after washing in hot water and over-drying twice, they are still pretty big on me. However, the one place I didn't want them to shrink - the length - did. The tags say they should fit just below the waist and since I am slightly short-waisted I figured they would sit at my waist. I’ve been trying to find the same jeans that I’ve had for a couple of years but these were way too long for short jeans I thought they were petite but then I ordered petite and they weren’t any shorter so I guess I have to actually go to the store and buy jeans.

These jeans are so tight in the leg that it's like putting on a pair of tights one size too small, while being so large in the hip/waist area that they don't stay in place when I sit down. I can pull the waist away from my body about 4 inches, given the Jean's have some stretch.
The material seems to be good quality but I am really disappointed in the fit and wishing I had not washed them before wearing so I could have returned them.

The picture shown is of the old and original Monroe style, noted by the vertical stitching on the "V" on the bottom of the back pocket. The jeans are of the new style and they are a different fit, smaller than the ones I've been ordering for years. Took several minutes to simply undo the button because the hole had been stitched way too tight. Nothing that I can't live with, tho.
